The 25 highest-paid NHL players all make at least $8.5 million a season. The National Hockey League overall is in somewhat of a transition in regards to salary caps and how much top players are making. The latest collective bargaining agreement (CBA) in the league took effect in 2013. The previous CBA had a loophole that allowed teams to play some players more than they usually would under the salary cap. The loophole led to some salaries that were way more than others. That loophole has been closed and most salaries have been adjusted to be within each team's salary cap. However, a few of the highest-paid players in the NFL are still playing on deals that were made during the former CBA.
