Putting on that leg parade! Taylor Swift invited her ultimate BFF, Selena Gomez, to the stage on Wednesday, Aug. 26, for her latest 1989 show at L.A.’s Staples Center, and naturally, that called for matching hot pants.
Shining like a couple of marquis diamonds, Swift, 25, and Gomez, 23, duetted the brunette beauty’s “Good for You” while clad in inverse ensembles: a custom white bustier and short shorts for the “Blank Space” singer, and a plunging top and black booty shorts, both by Norma Kamali, for Gomez.
Even their footwear matched! Both ladies stomped the arena’s makeshift runway in black suede, over-the-knee, high-heeled boots by Stuart Weitzman. (Though, Swift also added garters to her teeny two-piece.)
When the longtime best friends wrapped the song, they stood at the end of the stage, laughing and holding one another—a moment Gomez relived on Instagram. “After nearly 8 years of friendship, I just can’t wait to tell our kids we ACTUALLY got to perform in front of thousands of insanely beautiful people together,” she wrote. “TWICE! I love you Tay. #bestnightEVER #whatISlife.”
In reply, Swift shared her own photo of them owning the stage, which she captioned, “Sisterhood.” (Lisa Kudrow [for a duet of “Smelly Cat”!] and Justin Timberlake also joined the Grammy darling onstage that night.)
But their best friendship doesn’t stop there. Gomez gushed about the “Style” songstress in a recent interview with the UK’s Sunday Times. “I can count on one hand the people I could call and who would be there for me. Taylor is one of the greatest people,” she said. “When I split with my first boyfriend, and I was really sad about it, she flew into town with homemade cookies and a bunch of junk food. To this day, if I called her, she would do the same thing, despite being one of the busiest people in the world.”
