I wouldn’t post this here. Murie! or one of the other founders of DL is Mu$lim. She shuts down all bad press about them, while allowing Christians to be shit on nonstop. MurMur has a bigger agenda than FOXNEWS or CNN.

R2 Why shouldn't Christians be shit on?

Stop spreading nonsense.

The fact that you think "Muriel" has been a single person since the beginning shows how little you know about such matters.

by Anonymousreply 6June 8, 2023 4:59 PM

R5 I don't think any religions should be above criticism.

R6 can you read?

“or one of the other founders”

Are you okay? You’re not making sense.

by Anonymousreply 8June 8, 2023 5:01 PM

Horrific, wrong, etc... But what is the environment that is pushing these refugees to snap? Are they being harassed, ostracized, denied jobs and housing? You can only bully a human so much til they retaliate.

These countries need to work toward integration instead of segregation.

by Anonymousreply 10June 8, 2023 5:12 PM

Wow! You’re ones of those progressives. “Anything is right, as long as it ain’t white!”

R10 how do you integrate people whose religion hates gays and women into a modern, capitalist society?

There is no pushing them to snap, they were doing this shit in their home country, with no repercussions, no consequences, that’s why the assaults, murders, and the gang rapes keep happening. All this behavior was normalized and routine where they came from. How do you even start to unravel the century old beliefs that are so full of hate and violence? It’s nearly impossible for the first generation ones that immigrate to other countries.

All this keeps happening and good progressives like you keep sweeping it under the rug, because you are pushing some agenda that makes you “oh so better & superior” than all the other evil, racist white people, who are probably republicans.

by Anonymousreply 11June 8, 2023 5:24 PM

There is nothing more hilarious than a white, progressive gay, who has vilified other white people based on being called a “fag” in high school, and deifies other cultures and anyone POC. Only to support regimes and cultures who hate their homo ass even more than the hillbillies in their hometown.

French prosecutor has confirmed one of the children stabbed repeatedly by the Syrian Asylum Seeker was just 22 months old- and is now in critical condition. .

2 of the children are now confirmed as 2 years old.

And another child was 4.

One of the children was a British national while the other 3 were French.

The children were repeatedly stabbed by the Syrian Refugee.

2 of the children and one adult are now on life support in critical condition.

Integration does play a large part. You have to wonder why the majority of Muslims in the US are integrated but so many in Europe are not. Maybe they get all the poor ignorant ones and we get the educated, wealthy ones? Anyone?

by Anonymousreply 28June 8, 2023 7:07 PM

R10, funnily enough, I don't remember black Americans or gays or women stabbing babies during their respective centuries/millennia of oppression.

by Anonymousreply 29June 8, 2023 7:07 PM

News here in the UK is reporting that he was yelling "in the name of Jesus Christ". Anyone who can stab children is obviously mad. I hate that people immediately set out to blame any religion fur the senseless acts of one lunatic.

by Anonymousreply 30June 8, 2023 7:08 PM

Not that it will happen but it would be nice if French media determined how many French government subsidies the Syrian invader had been living on.

by Anonymousreply 31June 8, 2023 7:51 PM

R28, agree lack of integration is a major controubuting factor. SImilar to Canada , the US does a lot to integrate immigrants . Additionally North American society is less homogeneous than European society. In Candanad and US you will see a variety cultures, colors, regions etc. A mosque, temple, church, etc at almost every corner. In Europe this is hardly the case.

In simple language Euorpe is far whiter than North America society. There is less integration too. Immigrantsbare ALWAYS ALWays made to feel like " the other" Australia too similar to Europe.

by Anonymousreply 32June 8, 2023 10:31 PM

It was always hilarious seeing Europeans looking down their noses on Americans because of their country’s race relations problems. It was easy for them to do so while their countries were 99% white. Now they don’t know what to do. Welcome to the real world.

by Anonymousreply 36June 9, 2023 2:38 AM

R10, you ask a great question. What pushed this poor Syrian to lash out? What abuses caused him to have to stab toddlers?

You could ask the same question about Syrians in their own homeland. What have gay people done to hurt them so that they have to lash out to viciously punish LGBT people?

Here's a snippet from the Wikipedia article about LGBT rights in Syria:

[quote]Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in the Syrian Arab Republic face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Article 520 of the penal code of 1949, prohibits "carnal relations against the order of nature", and provides for up to three years' imprisonment.

[quote]Vigilante executions, beatings, torture, and vigilante attacks against LGBT happen all the time in Syria, including attacks by the rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

He is being identified as Christian

by Anonymousreply 39June 9, 2023 3:13 AM

People immediately go to a specific religion when this stuff happens. And often there's that element involved.

But just think about what these refugees from muslim countries face. Any country that creates refugees is probably a super fucked up place to grow up in the decade or so leading to the refugee crisis. Extreme poverty, religious brainwashing, barely any real education. Then war comes. You see some dark shit. Family members and neighbors getting blown up...then you end up in a refugee camp where the amount of rape is shocking--like a LOT of women and children get raped there. Probably a lot of teen boys too....Sometimes people get stuck there for 2 or more years. Then you end up in a foreign country with no skills, you dont' know the language, barely any mental health services....no money..massive cultural differences than what you were led to believe is the way the world should work..you live in a ghetto with other people who experienced all of the above. Some go on to build lives for themselves, but others just wallow in poverty in countries where they sense the people dont want them there.

Not making excuses for violent monsters. Its just not about whether the person is Islamic or not....

by Anonymousreply 40June 9, 2023 3:23 AM

This guy, Muslim, Christian, whatever. We have Muslims in the family, through marriage. They're pleasant enough on the surface but I know them and I don't trust them at all. Their god comes first, and always will.

by Anonymousreply 41June 9, 2023 3:31 AM

[quote] We have Muslims in the family, through marriage. They're pleasant enough on the surface but I know them and I don't trust them at all.

Wow, shameful

by Anonymousreply 42June 9, 2023 3:36 AM

R10 - there is nothing that could have happened in this suspect's life to warrant stabbing anyone, especially infants.

I also don't think that this person's religion - be he Christian or Muslim - had anything to do with this attack. The suspect is a nutbar and needs to spend a long time in prison and then deported. All countries that bring in refugees from ANYWHERE in the world - Syria, Haiti, Ukraine - should deport a person if they commit a violent crime and I don't give a fuck what terrible conditions they would be returning to.

by Anonymousreply 43June 9, 2023 3:38 AM

R40 And European countries have imported millions of these people.

by Anonymousreply 44June 9, 2023 5:51 AM

Look what Europe allowed Hitler to do. They decimated their Jewish population, many of whom were highly-educated, and who were doctors, scientists, musicians, dancers, and painters. And what did Europe replace these Jews with? Medieval hoodlums who sit around, collect welfare, beat their wives, and commit acts of terrorism. Here’s a good lesson: if you’re going to commit an act of genocide, it really shouldn’t be against a people who contribute a great deal to society.

by Anonymousreply 45June 9, 2023 7:13 AM

Stabbing babies is just so despicable. Sick son of bitch. I hope the kids will recover.

by Anonymousreply 46June 9, 2023 7:29 AM

R40, that's bs. Many refugees come from war-torn countries and have through shit. Did you see Vietnamese refugees from the Vietnam War go around stabbing people?

by Anonymousreply 48June 17, 2023 3:59 PM

R21/R24 there are friends I have from Germany or living in Germany who say the same. Seems like there's not many places left in the West that are safe from this.

As a Welsh Brit, I'm seeing more and more English, Americans and other Europeans coming here to live and work than there's ever been. History really does repeat itself.

by Anonymousreply 49June 17, 2023 4:01 PM

R41 my educated middle-class sister is engaged to an educated, higher-class Egyptian Musl!m man, and he has to hide her from his fundie nutcase parents because they think she's a white Devil who's seducing their son to Hell. These are people with degrees and a lot of money. I like my sister's partner and I don't think he's inherently criminal or atavistic, but he struggles with reconciling his love of Western freedoms and my sister with pleasing his father and obeying his cultural norms. I worry for my sister in this relationship.

by Anonymousreply 50June 17, 2023 4:04 PM

Of course, what the fat sack of shit defatso, who is also 90% of this thread, fails to disclose -

“ A British girl stabbed during a rampage by a Syrian Christian refugee”

Re-read that. CHRISTIAN. This is in the first paragraph of the article!

by Anonymousreply 51June 17, 2023 4:06 PM

Christian or Muslim, one thing we know- men from these counties behave like animals.

by Anonymousreply 52June 17, 2023 5:33 PM

R51 I read he wasn't a Christian. He claimed to be one and it didn't hold up under scrutiny, that's why Sweden denied his refugee status in the first place.

by Anonymousreply 53June 17, 2023 5:35 PM

^ the article posted here literally says otherwise. But please continue trying to contort this into your preferred narrative

by Anonymousreply 54June 17, 2023 5:41 PM

R52, the reason his being Christian was pointed out is because 99% of the posts upthread (basically all of de fatso’s) are about Islam or assume he is Muslim, which isn’t true

by Anonymousreply 55June 17, 2023 5:43 PM

R53. His name is Abdalmasih HANOUN (very Arab Christian name, literally means “servant of the Messiah”). Born in Al-Hasakah (city with large Christian minority). He was rejected after applying for Swedish citizenship 3 times. Applied to asylum in France but was rejected and about to be deported. He’s married and has a kid.

So no, dear. He’s actually Christian.

by Anonymousreply 56June 17, 2023 5:50 PM

R50, tell your sister to run! As her brother (older), you have to protect her.

by Anonymousreply 57June 17, 2023 5:50 PM

R35, See r39. Not that your info is incorrect per se, but in this instance, it is irrelevant.

by Anonymousreply 58June 17, 2023 5:57 PM

Because a Muslim trying to get his “jihad” moment would yell Jesus Christ’s name and wear Christian insignia during the attack.

Jesus. Some of you morons are so entrenched in your prejudices you may as well be Trumptards (if you already aren’t, in the case of fat ass defatfuck).

R54 I read about the name. It was also pointed out that it was the name he gave authorities in Sweden. It needn't have been on a passport. My reason to mistrust this is that France denied him. I know various Syrian refugees and their families and there hasn't been any problem getting refugee status as a Christian or a Muslim.

[quote] Police say the suspect has refugee status in Sweden and recently came to France, leaving behind a wife and three-year-old daughter. In an unsuccessful asylum application last year for refugee status in France, he said he was a Syrian Christian. During the incident, the attacker invoked the name of Jesus Christ.

A theory would be that he lost his status in Sweden when he separated from the wife. Why else would he apply for refugee statues yet in another country?

Maybe he wanted to prove he really really was a Christian. Baby stabbing isn't very convincing in this regard nowadays, unlike in the old testament.

Well lets think about this, the christian religion says to love your brother as you love yourself and muslim is : kill the nonbelievers.

by Anonymousreply 65June 17, 2023 9:42 PM

Exactly, r65!

Islam, coming along AFTER Christianity, has no excuse to include any acceptance, let alone condoning, of violence whatsoever. But it's there, because it is a deliberate throwback to the "smiting" Old Testament, because Islam was always posited as the rival to Judaism.

You don't see Muslims fighting over the Vatican, do you? Or Wittenberg Cathedral?

Clearer picture of Nottingham killer

Portugal foreign minister, João Gomes Cravinho, has said today he is in contact with British authorities about whether the man detained as a suspect for killing three people in Nottingham this week has Portuguese nationality.

“We found out recently, this morning, that apparently, the suspect has Portuguese nationality. We are investigating the matter but will be in close contact with the British authorities in this regard,” he told journalists following his meeting with British counterpart James Cleverly.

It was the Telegraph that alluded to Valdo Calocane’s possible Portuguese nationality, explaining in a article that his parents, originally from Guinea Bissau, received Portuguese nationality in Madeira in 2006 before moving to Wales and acquiring resident status as European nationals.

Guinea Bissau is a country in West Africa with an estimated population of 2,026,778. It borders Senegal to its north and Guinea to its southeast.
