Budding singer/songwriter Sidney Bird is starting off the new year strong with the release of her heartwarming new single “Renaissance Man.”
The COVID-19 pandemic has not put a stop to the “southwester darling’s” musical creativity. Instead of focusing on how much loneliness being in isolation has brought, Bird took the time to reflect. Her time of reflection led to the creation of “Renaissance Man,” which is dedicated to not only her parents, but also her future children.
“I spent a lot of time with them in quarantine and it gave me a chance to reflect on my childhood and how precious that time is,” Bird told Celeb Secrets. “I feel very lucky to have such great parents and I felt I needed to write a song about the family I wish to have one day.”
In 2020, Sidney released her debut album “Bad Timing” has been streamed over 1.7 million times and featured buzz worthy singles “Kisses” and “Wild.” The following year, Bird released her Big Heart, and she even performed live at Rockwood Music Hall at the end of the year.
For those that don’t know much about Sidney, here’s the scoop. Sidney was born and raised in Arizona, but she’s growing her music career in New York City. Aside from music, she has a passion for world-building and storytelling thanks to her background in musical theatre and comedy.
Celeb Secrets (virtually) sat down with Sidney to learn more about the inspiration behind “Renaissance Man,” the choice of rhythm, and the message she hopes her listeners get from the song.
