He has an older sister named Holly. Originally, he wanted to attend Valley Forge Military Academy and move to Japan to become a ninja. However, his father introduced him to films like The Elephant Man (1977), He got inspired to be an actor. Cooper stated his parents were worried about his career choice. But finally changed their opinions when they saw Cooper play the part of Joseph Merrick from the play The Elephant Man.
Career
Cooper received nominations for eight Academy Awards and a Tony Award and has won two Grammy Awards and a BAFTA Award. He appeared on the Forbes magazine Celebrity 100 three times. In 2015, he appeared on the Time magazine list of the 100 most influential people in the world. His films have earned $11 billion worldwide and he has placed four times in the annual rankings of the world’s highest-grossed actors.
After beginning his acting career in 1999. He applied in the MFA program at the Actors Studio in 2000, with a guest role in Sex and the City (1998, TV series). Cooper performed his first film role in the comedy Wet Hot American Summer (2001). He first gained recognition in the spy-action Alias (2001–2006, TV series).
He gained minor success with a supporting role in the romantic comedy film Wedding Crashers (2005). His commercially successful comedy films, including The Hangover (2009) and its two sequels, The Hangover Part II (2011) and The Hangover Part III (2013). Cooper’s outstanding performance in the thriller film Limitless (2011). He gained further praise for his role in the crime drama The Place Beyond the Pines (2012).
