ORLANDO, FL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Former boy band manager and business mogul Lou Pearlman has been the subject of an ugly article in Vanity Fair in which he is accused of being a "sexual predator" who preyed upon the young men in the bands he was managing.

According to Vanity Fair, Pearlman alleged made his fortune through boiler room investments and an ponzi scheme involving a mostly fictional airline but soon turned his interest to the music industry where he recruited and began to promote the careers of several famous "boy bands" including N'Sync, the Backstreet Boys. Claiming to be inspired by his experience reportedly in owning a stake in the male nude Chippendales dancers and The New Kids On The Block, Pearlman went on to found numerous "boy" acts, recording studios and record labels. All of this eventually collapsed however and led to Pearlman's flight from the U.S. and subsequent arrest.

Now darker allegations are surfacing. The Vanity Fair article details extensively, claims made by numerous members of different musical groups Pearlman worked with. Tim Christofore, of the band Take Five states that he recalls Pearlman, naked, diving into bed with him to "wrestle." Another member of the Backstreet Boys claimed that Pearlman was "inappropriate" with Nick Carter. Carter's mother, Jane Carter supported these assertions, stating that "Certain things happened and it almost destroyed our family. I tried to warn everyone."

Still more allegations arose in an article by the Boston Herald. They reported that an anonymous manager, who worked with Pearlman alleged that "He would tell the guys that he had investors who ‘could really help your band,’ " and that "He would tell the kids, ‘Listen, these guys will expect something in return . . . so I am going to let you practice on me so you will feel comfy when it happens."

With the Pearlman's court case still in the offing, these sordid developments may only be the tip of the proverbial iceberg. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
